Sept/Oct. 2019 Newsletter
September 23 - 27, 2019... St. Judes provides a Curriculum to teach bicycle safety to children during the week. On
Friday, Sept. 27th families will be asked to bring their children’s bikes to
for our annual Trike-a-Thon to help raise money for the hospital.
We do this each year because the cost
of running the hospital is over 1.7 million dollars a day. They rely on donations to cover this cost,
because they do not charge the families for the care they provide! Please
return donation envelopes by Fri, Oct. 11, 2019. (Checks or money orders should be
made out to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.) Thank you in advance for your help!
Fire Safety Day:
October the Maytown Fire Dept will be bringing a fire truck to the Center to
teach the children & staff about the importance of fire safety.
Pumpkin Patch Field Trip: On Thurs. October 17, 2019 the children in the Starfish & Sea Turtle
Classrooms will be going to Corn Cob Acres from
8:45am - 12:30pm. We will be eating
lunch at 12:30 when we return to the Center to avoid the bees that were a
nuisance in previous years. Please make sure
your child eats a hardy breakfast that day! Permission slips and payment are due by Oct. 4, 2019.
Costume Parade: If you would like your child to participate in the yearly Costume Parade, Please bring your costumes to the Center on Fri. Oct. 25, 2019. At 3:30pm we will put the children in their costumes and have them walk around the pond (across the street) to show off their costume :) Parents/Guardians are welcome to go to the pond to watch the parade!
Day: Life Touch Photography will be coming to the Center Wed.
November 6, 2019 to take individual photos of the children/staff and class
photos. Two photographers will be coming that day instead of us having
two separate picture days this year. If your child is part-time please
make sure they will be here the day their class is being photographed.
(We want all the children to be here so everyone is in the class photos).
A small portion of the proceeds goes to the Center.
New Payment Policy: Each week we have a list of families we have to chase because tuition is not being paid on time. Payments must be made on time so we can pay the teachers who lovingly care for and educate your children each day, and to be able to purchase supplies necessary to care for your child or children! To prevent this issue we are instituting a new payment policy effective immediately. All accounts with a balance of $500 or more will be sent to collections if you have not previously set up a payment plan with Michelle. To avoid your account being sent to collections, weekly payment must be paid by Friday of the week before service. If paying monthly, tuition is due by the last day of the month prior to the month of service. Thank You to all families who consistently pay on time who we have not had to chase!! Not having to chase families for payment will also give us the time we need to set up the tablets so we can start using the Smartcare Program :)
Online Payment: Payment can now be made through the Smartcare App. The amount due will not show up through Smartcare yet because we are still in the process of setting up the tuition plans, but you can make a payment through the app. It will show up as a negative balance due for now... If you use a credit card they charge you 2.85% that does not come back to us (it is their fee). If you have not verified your account on Smartcare and would like to make payments online please e-mail Michelle (Michelle@kinderhookearlylearning.com) so she can
e-mail a link to you.
Additional Upcoming Events =
Free Vision Screening: A representative
from the Susquehanna Valley Assoc. for the Blind & Visually Impaired will
be coming to the Center on Tues. January 7, 2020 to conduct free vision screenings for children ages 2+. Paperwork will be handed out in advance, so parents can opt out of the screening if they would not like their children to be screened.
